Why you should clean your Driveway

Autumn has been and winter is nearly over… the days of using your beautiful outdoor patio features are about to start again!! Yes, it will soon be time for you to move from entertaining your friends inside to outside with the BBQ on.

So why do you need to clean your driveway? Well, there are many reasons, and if you want to be ready and informed for spring and BBQ time starts, head to the section headed ‘Reasons to clean your driveway.

I can’t lie though autumn is literally my favourite time of the year. The time when the lights make everywhere pretty again, and the smell of pumpkin and cinnamon linger around the house.

Anytime now, most people decide to start getting the garden tidy and thinking about the patio and garden furniture ready for BBQ’s and entertaining. With the sun starting to be out it will soon be time to cut your grass and prepare for spring to return.

My husband and eldest son have been building a new shed and making my path round the house and my patio very muddy… so the first thing I will be doing this spring is giving my patio and paths a good clean.

For now, I will be enjoying my pumpkin and cinnamon-smelling house and wrapping up in a nice snuggly blanket… and think about the garden and what I want to do.

Reasons to clean your driveway:

1. Personal mental health and pride.

Let’s face it; Having a clean home makes you feel good. It’s about personal pride to present your best to the rest of the world. And why shouldn’t you? You work hard! If it lifts your spirits, it will help you make your life more efficient and organised and allow you to feel in control.

Of course, you don’t have the time, energy, equipment, or enthusiasm for driveway cleaning. It’s a good idea then to call in a professional and experienced cleaning service with top-of-the-range equipment and knowledge to freshen your driveway again.

2. Property Value increases.

When it comes to their property, most people focus on the interior and exterior looking amazing and how the garden looks.

They make sure their Patios are all tidy and kept clear, but driveways tend to get the short straw.

We must remember that the driveway will be the first experience of your home a potential buyer may see. Rightly or wrongly, first impressions really do count.

3. Your safety and your family’s safety are essential.

A clean patio and driveway creates a slip-hazard-free driveway which makes them safe. Saying that, though, it is incredible how many people allow their patio slabs, block paving or concrete driveways to become slimy with algae, mould, lichen, moss and other unpleasant growths.

Don’t risk your postie getting hurt. Keep your driveways clear.

4. Weather-worn look.

Thankfully, here in England, we don’t suffer from extremes of weather, but we tend to have damp winter conditions.

Water makes its way into all the small cracks and holes in your patio and driveway, and when the temperature drops, ice will form, and that ice will expand and can make those cracks a lot bigger.

5. The Pain you have with stains, we can take them away.

Stains on your driveway look unattractive and reduce your beautiful home’s overall aesthetic.

Whether it’s the grubby-looking marks made by your vehicle’s tyres or oil soaking into the surface, these can be a problem to get rid of, especially if it’s left too long.

The oil and grease marks are usually best left to the professionals who know best how to tackle them.

6. Bring back the colour you miss.

Do you remember what your patio and driveway looked like when you first laid it? Can you remember how proud you were as it enhanced the appearance of your home?

Well, it can look new again, or at least reasonably close to it. An experienced patio and driveway cleaning professional can bring them back to life while ensuring that they do not damage it in the process. If you have a tarmac driveway that looks worn, check out the blog I will add at the end, STUNNING!!!

7. Remove the weeds.

Weeds are really irritating, aren’t they? And before you know it, they have spread everywhere. I feel you; it was just yesterday you spent all day weeding, and the garden was clean and tidy. Today, there’s green popping up in every joint.

Not only are they unsightly, but it takes us back to the safety issues. Weeds grow, spread and can be very slippery. Removing them as you go would be best to avoid them establishing themselves.

8. It is lengthening the life of your patio and driveway.

This will be one of the top reasons on any homeowners list, as we don’t want to have to keep replacing costly features in and around your home.

All the previously mentioned reasons are good benefits of cleaning your patio and driveway.

As people say, a stitch in time saves nine; this is certainly the case when it comes to your outside features… in this climate, looking after your investment’s important, and they are to us too.
