What a professional needs to clean your patio and driveway?

If you’re planning to hire professional patio cleaners, there are a few things you need to know. I will review everything you need for a professional to clean your patio and driveway in this article.

Since starting with Art of Clean, I have seen many types of patios and driveways. From concrete to Indian sandstone, each and everyone brings so much character and elegance to the outside appearance of your home. And every patio & driveway cleaning company should be able to clean all types of patios and driveways… they require customers to have a few things to do.

Here are some of the things that professional patio cleaners need from the customer:

1. Clear access to the patio

Before the patio cleaners arrive at your home, it’s important to clear any objects that could make it difficult for them to access your patio… this includes moving any furniture or potted plants in the way. Some companies will do some of this if you cannot. It’s also a good idea to inform the patio cleaners of any potential obstacles or hazards that they may encounter, such as uneven ground or low-hanging branches.

If the only access is through the house… you will need to remember some companies have van-mounted machines that the pipes and machines have to work from. It means the pipes must run from the van through your house to your patio. If it’s a small patio that needs very little doing, they may have a potable they can use, but they would need access to power.

2. Access to water

Professional patio cleaners need access to water to clean your patio correctly. This means ensuring that there is an outdoor water source that they can use. If you haven’t got an outdoor tap, let the cleaners know in advance so that they can bring their own water supply. We carry a certain amount of water on the van, but they will need extra water if it’s a large patio. Please speak to the professional you use… this is where our free-of-charge quote comes in handy for both parties.

3. Power source

In addition to water, patio cleaners also need access to a power source. Most patio cleaning equipment, such as pressure washers, require electricity. Ensure that there is an outdoor power source that the cleaners can use, or inform them in advance if this is impossible.

Our van-mounted machines are powered, so we will save you electricity when using our equipment.

4. Knowledge of the patio’s material

Different patio materials require other cleaning methods, so it’s important to inform the patio cleaners of what your patio material is. This will help them to determine the best cleaning approach and avoid causing any damage to your patio.

Most patio and driveway cleaners have regular training to know how to clean any patio and driveway.

5. Clear expectations

Be clear about your expectations for the cleaning job. For example, do you want the patio to be completely spotless or more concerned with removing stains and dirt build-up? Communicating your expectations upfront will help the patio cleaners to provide you with the results you’re looking for.

As far as we’re concerned, it is all about what you want. After all, it is your investment… remember, they can’t perform miracles. Sometimes a stain won’t come off. However, they will always try their hardest to accommodate your needs!

6. Timeframe

Finally, let the patio cleaners know how much time they must complete the job. This information will help them plan their work accordingly and ensure they can finish within the allotted time. Remember that more oversized patios or ones with tough dirt or staining may require more cleaning time. If you have a date in mind, it would be best to give as much notice as you can… most, like us, book up quickly once the spring is finally here.

So, as you can see… providing professional patio cleaners with all the above information will help them to give you the best results possible. By working together and communicating effectively… you can restore your patio to its former glory in no time.
