How will a professional clean your patio and what is included?

Is your patio looking a little unloved? We’ve all been there, you thought you had time, but the months are flying by. The problem is you have a large patio to clean, and you aren’t even sure where to start with looking at professionals. A big question on your mind will be “how will a professional clean your patio and what is included?

It’s okay, I’ve got you! I am going to cover:

  1. The most important part – the cost of how a professional will clean your patio.
  2. How a professional will clean your patio.
  3. Why are some patio cleaning companies more expensive?
  4. Reviews from our beloved customers.
  5. Questions and things to think about when choosing your professional patio cleaning company.

I’m also adding another helpful article at the end of my blog. I know, amazing, aren’t I?! Anyway, let’s begin:

1. The most important part – the cost of how a professional will clean your patio:

Before we go into it too far, here are a few images of some of our amazing customer’s patios and driveways we have done:

To get a price for you, we bring you to:

  • Please fill out a quote request on our webpage.
  • Or call us on 01223 863632.
  • Whether you send a quote request by email or by calling in, one of our girls will happily book for one of our technicians to come out and do a free-of-charge quote for you.

The cost will depend on the size of your patio and our process. We use two methods: Clean, Sand and Seal & Clean, Point and Seal. Our technicians will give you the best quote for each customer’s needs.

After researching a few different companies, I have found that most will ask you to fill in a quote form.

Now all companies do things differently, so I looked at ten companies. Of the 10 I researched, 9 ask you to fill out a form and contact you to book a quote. I found 1 with prices.

They give you a minimum charge and then pricing for extras that might need doing. I.e., re-slabbing or re-pointing.

We don’t have pricing on our page as we like to tailor our quotes to our customers’ needs.

However, we have a minimum charge too, and as I’m always trying to be honest, ours is £800.00. The £800 is the minimum cover for a whole day but only one technician.

I know that it seems a little costly but your investments are costly to replace… A great deal more than what we will charge to get it looking new and fresh again.

The reason behind our minimum charge:

As you can imagine, patio cleaning isn’t a clean job, and the tech guys get covered in mud and dirt!

The problem there is that if it only takes us till 12 pm our tech will then lose half a day, as we don’t want to send them to another job after they have done yours.

Looking mucky and dirty doesn’t look good, and we wouldn’t feel like we were giving our next customer the most outstanding customer experience. First impressions are part of that experience.

2. How a professional will clean your patio:

So, as I said before, we do two processes:

  •  Clean, Sand and Seal

First, they use a pressure wash on your patio with our van-mounted machine with a pressure of 1000psi.

Once they have cleared as much rubbish off as they can, they may now be able to see darker stains.

To get these marks off, they use Sodium hypochlorite.

The sodium hypochlorite breaks down any bacteria and fungi.

Once the area is arid, they refill it with kiln-dried sand.

We will then seal all the joints. The sealing process is to maintain cleanliness.

As soon as the first coat of sealant is dry, they may need to add another.

The patio must dry completely before using it to ensure the sealant has dried completely.

  • Clean, Point and Seal

They will clean the patio, same as when they do the above method.

Instead of sand, we use a material called easy joint and seal.

The easy joint is brushed into the joints, pushing down the grout to give it a smoother finish.

The sealing is the same as the first process.

Here’s a video showing us cleaning a patio:

3. Why are some patio and driveway cleaning companies more expensive than others?

Top end:

Usually, they have been doing this for many years, so it will be expensive.

This company will come with many years of experience and abundant knowledge.

Because of how well-established they are, they generally have top-of-the-range machinery.

Bottom end:

These have usually just started, so they are generally much cheaper.

They will still need to gain knowledge and experience.

As they are just starting, their equipment may not be as good as the Premium companies.

4. Reviews from our beloved customers about our patio cleaning:

It’s always good to check people’s reviews. I advise you to be thorough when doing this.

After all, it’s a significant feature in your garden for your BBQ parties.

Here are a few of ours:

What a fantastic company! They turned up yesterday at 8.30 and cleaned, pointed and sealed a patio which I believed was beyond saving. Nothing was too much trouble and we now have a patio which will last a few more years. Before you get rid of your old patio give these boys a call and save yourself a load of money. Highly recommended. Martin, Royston

5. Questions and things to consider when choosing your professional patio cleaning company.

  • How long have you been cleaning patios?
  • Are your staff all fully trained and up to date with their training?
  • What does your patio cleaning include?
  • Would you be willing to pay a lot to have the best service?
  • Have you checked the reviews and ratings?
  • Do they offer a 100% money guarantee if you’re unsatisfied with their service?

So, there you have it. That is all my research on How a professional will clean your patio.
