How will a professional clean your patio and what is included?

Hello you! Whether you’re a familiar face around here or just discovering us for the first time… a big warm welcome. Go on, grab a cuppa (you know we always recommend it), get comfy, and let’s look into everything you need to know about how a professional will clean your patio and what is included.

If your patio’s starting to look a little weathered and weary, you’re not alone. It’s easy for it to become a bit forgotten over the colder months… and suddenly it’s spring, the sun’s out, and you’re staring at a patchy patio wondering, “Where do I even start?” That’s exactly where the pros come in.

But what does a professional patio clean involve? And what should you expect?

Let’s begin…

So, how much is this going to cost?

We’ll just say it… cost is always at the top of our minds, and for good reason. At Cambridge Patio and Driveway Cleaners, we like to keep things transparent and personal. That’s why we don’t display set prices on our website. Instead, we tailor each quote to suit your specific space and needs.

Before we go into it too far, here are a few images of some of our amazing customer’s patios and driveways we have done:

The best way to get your quote?

Just fill out our quote request form or give us a ring on 01223 863632. One of our amazing team members will arrange a visit from a technician… no cost, no obligation, just a friendly chat and a proper look at your patio.

Now, just so you know… we do have a minimum charge of £800, which covers a full day’s work by one of our skilled technicians. That might sound like a lot up front, but it’s a solid investment. Think of how much it would cost to replace your patio altogether! A thorough clean can breathe a new lease of life into your space at a fraction of the cost.

And why the minimum charge, you ask? Well, our technicians can get absolutely covered in muck and grime (glamorous, we know). Once they’ve finished your job, we won’t send them straight to another. It’s all part of making sure every customer gets the best first impression… fresh, tidy, and ready to wow.

Here’s what we actually do during the clean

This is where the magic happens!

We typically offer two types of patio cleaning services: Clean, Sand & Seal or Clean, Point & Seal. Which one we recommend depends on the condition of your patio and what finish you’re after.

With the Clean, Sand & Seal method, we begin by pressure washing using our powerful van-mounted machine… it blasts through dirt at 1000 psi. Then we treat any lingering stains using sodium hypochlorite, which tackles bacteria and fungi like a champ. Once everything’s dry, kiln-dried sand is brushed into the joints, followed by a protective sealant to lock in that clean finish. Sometimes, a second coat of sealant is applied if the patio calls for it… always better to be thorough.

With the Clean, Point & Seal method, the cleaning part is the same, but instead of sand, we use a product called Easy Joint. This gets brushed into the joints and smoothed down to create a neater, more polished look. Once again, sealing is the final step… and we make sure it’s fully dry before we give you the all-clear to enjoy it.

Why the price difference between companies?

If you shop around, you may notice a wide range in prices… from budget-friendly basics to more premium packages. So what gives?

Well, established companies like ours tend to come with years of experience, quality training, and top-notch equipment. That means better results, less risk of damage, and a service that’s built around you.

On the other end of the scale, newer or cheaper services may be cutting costs with lower-grade machines or less experience. That doesn’t always mean bad service… but it’s worth considering what’s most important to you.

Things to think about before choosing your patio cleaner

Picking the right company isn’t just about price — it’s about value. Here are a few friendly prompts to help you decide:

  • What’s your budget, and what are you hoping to get for it?
  • Is the company clear about what they include?
  • Have you looked at their reviews? (Google is your best mate here!)
  • Do they offer any kind of guarantee if things don’t go as expected?
  • How long have they been in business, and are their staff fully trained?
  • Are they using proper patio cleaning machines and products, or DIY bits from the shed?

These little checks can go a long way in making sure you choose someone who understands your patio… and treats it like their own.

And that’s a wrap on this patio chat! We hope you’re now feeling much clearer (and a little more excited) about what a professional clean can do for your outdoor space. Don’t forget to scroll down for more tips and a bonus article we’ve popped in for you.

Until next time… keep sipping that tea, and we’ll keep blasting the dirt away! ☕🧼
